The bed was comfortable, and the room had a table, reading chairs, and decent lighting. Everything worked, though there was no soap, towel, or toilet paper. The staff were hanging around the common areas, which gave the place a run-down feel, but they were at least around and seemed nice. I ended up here after the nearby hotels I’d wanted were full, and grabbed the next bed available. My room was on the third floor, facing a narrow, busy lane. The mix of voices, horns, and motorcycles was interesting, but the noise carried on into the night and made deep sleep hard. I learned the usual lesson about getting a room away from a busy street in a lively tourist area. For the low price, I’d choose it again over one of the big, sterile nearby hotels that cost three times as much. The rules say rooms can’t be used for sales operations or meetings of gangs of extremists, so anyone doing that sort of business should look elsewhere.

The city was packed during the festival, and we needed bus tickets to Pokhara when everything seemed fully booked. The manager managed to get them for us, which we really appreciated. Our room was clean and relaxing to come back to after stressful days. We had a great stay in Kathmandu. Thanks so much for everything.

We stay here every time we’re in Thamel, and the reasonable prices and nice restaurant keep bringing us back. It’s quiet despite being right in the heart of the area, and the owners are great. The hotel can help arrange trip plans, and it works well for a family visit, a romantic getaway, or before or after a trek. You might arrive as a customer and leave as a friend.

During my three nights here in July 2022, I found the rooms nice and clean, and the location right in the heart of Thamel was perfect. Mr. Ram ji was friendly and drove us himself in his car. He also sorted out the rest of our Pokhara trip, including bus tickets and a hotel there. You can stay here at an affordable price. Thank you, Mr. Ram ji. The owners are generous and kind, and the atmosphere feels friendly and homely. It’s one of the best budget hotels in Thamel. The food is great, and so are the rooms.
