Hotel Thamel

I stayed for one night. The room had air conditioning and was a bit old, but acceptable. Hotel Thamel Center is indeed in the center of Thamel. The noise was the problem. The bar downstairs started playing extremely loud music early in the night, and the room had no soundproofing. It was impossible to sleep. When I called to ask when the music would stop, staff said only after 12am. I asked if they could do anything, but they gave me no answer and rudely hung up. In the end, I checked out and booked another hotel so I could get proper rest.

Rooms were clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast had plenty of choices and was excellent. Staff were really friendly and ready to help. The hotel is right in the heart of Thamel, just steps from shops, restaurants, and bars, so it’s a convenient central base in Kathmandu.

Gaukaran Aryal, the hotel manager, arranged a vehicle for local sightseeing and trips to Pokhra and Chitwan, including the route to Manokamna Mandir, at very reasonable rates. They also offer packages. I strongly recommend staying here if you visit Kathmandu, and it’s good value for money. My family and I were treated very nicely from check-in to check-out. The rooms were very clean, the location convenient, and the service prompt. There was a good variety at the buffet breakfast.

Breakfast was a highlight, with lots of tasty choices for children and adults alike, from fresh fruit and pastries to hot dishes such as eggs and pancakes. My family and I had a lovely stay. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable for unwinding after a long day, and the staff were friendly and always ready to help. We’d stay here again.
