The warmth of the staff and the local charm of the architecture make Karma Tara Residency feel welcoming, unlike the sterile feel of larger hotels. It really lives up to its motto, “Home away from Hone.” In Keshab Mahal, it’s tucked into a remarkably quiet spot, away from the relentless honking and city noise, while still close to the energy of Thamel. A lovely balance between a peaceful retreat and the bustle.

The shared meals were a highlight, with the host introducing us to new dishes and local flavors. At Karmakara Residency I found a family-like atmosphere and got to know the team, which helped me understand and settle into Nepali culture and life in Kathmandu. I arrived for my UNICEF assignment and received an exceptional welcome. The staff were warm, attentive, and extremely helpful. I truly enjoyed my stay and will remember it fondly.

After a long day, it was always nice to come back to this peaceful corner. The Residency is right in the centre of everything, yet tucked away from the noise. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and Sonam was warm and welcoming. It really felt like a home away from home. I'll be back soon.

I spent two months at KTR this summer and it was perfect for what I needed. It's quiet at night, with a nice rooftop spot to relax, and the location works well for getting to everything. The apartments are tidy, clean, and well equipped. The staff are amazing and always willing to help. Highly recommend. Thanks, team!

I spent 15 months at Karma Tara, and choosing this lovely place in Thamel was the best decision. The whole team welcomed me and cared for me like family. I always felt safe, and the place is consistently clean. I'd recommend staying here.
