Mr. Hari, the owner, made us feel at home and was so helpful. He shared useful information about Kathmandu tours, arranged a taxi, had some great conversations with me, and took me to a travel agency to book a flight to see Everest. The room was clean and nice, and the place is close to Thamel and many historic sites. A wonderful place to stay in Kathmandu, highly recommended.

Hari's rooms are easygoing and comfortable, and I can't recommend them enough. It's a quiet, stylish place in a KTM kind of way, away from the bustle, but everything's walkable or reachable by transport.

The place itself was okay, but I felt treated like an unwelcome enemy by the owner's family, after thinking I was part of the family. We stayed for a week, and things got worse when the owner's youngest daughter started acting strangely. She said her family was going on holiday to France and Amsterdam, and that was why their room prices were so high. She told me Nepal wasn't a good place for me as a white person and that I should leave and not come back. She also said I thought Nepal was cheap and had come to use poor people. Another time she claimed there were more guests around and that absolute quiet was necessary. They also started locking the door from the inside, making the farther rooms inaccessible. The money side was upsetting too. They offered us a fair price for a double room, but when they took payment in advance, they kept the change, saying it was an extra charge for water and cleaning, though that wasn't in the homestay policy. I had asked the owner's wife if I could handwash my clothes, and she agreed without mentioning a fee. After checkout, when I returned to the place, she refused to give the change back. I wouldn't recommend staying with this money-greedy family.

The location was very good and quiet. The BOSS was warm, helpful, and a very good person. We had too much luggage to carry, and the owners were willing to help us with it.
