Monkey Temple Residence

I booked eight nights through the booking.com app. About a week before I was due to arrive, I got an email from the property starting a cancellation. It was confusing: there was a button I could click to cancel, while the app still showed my booking as confirmed. I assumed it was just offering free cancellation and didn't think much of it. When I got to the property, I was horrified to hear that my booking had been cancelled and there was no room for me. That put me in a really dire situation. The cancellation process needs to be communicated more clearly, and booking.com and the property need to sort that out. I also found it very unprofessional that the property cancelled so close to my booking date. Since I hadn't clicked the cancellation button in the email, they should have tried to contact me through messages to understand what was going on. They didn't.
