Sweet Dreams Thamel

The location is right in the heart of Kathmandu, so it's great for being central, though the surrounding clubs play loud music all night and make it hard to rest. Rooms are very basic, which makes sense at such a low price. I never had trouble with the hot water, something that isn't always a given in Nepal, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was a good size, super clean, and had a really comfortable bed. The price was very good, and the service was excellent. Everyone was nice and friendly. I'd come back.

The best part for me was the front desk guy, who was kind and helpful. The place is in Thamel, right in Kathmandu's lively tourist area, and while it's well situated, the entrance isn't great, though plenty of hotels are like that. We stayed to see what it was like sleeping in the middle of the tourist district, but the basic room and bathroom weren't comfortable for me. Our best experience was at a guest house, a unique place.
