The Milestone Hotel

Breakfast was tasty, and they even opened the door for us at midnight when we came back from a late stroll through thamel. There’s parking for a single ride bike, too. The room was small, but we got a great deal on one with a jacuzzi, so it worked out well.

The central spot in Thamel was handy for getting around the shops and restaurants, and the room had a modern look. But cleanliness and basic comfort were big problems. The bathroom needed a deep clean, and we had to kill at least three cockroaches. The toiletries were only partly filled, there was no shower gel, and there wasn’t a proper spot for basics like a toothbrush. Hot water came and went. The low ceiling and lack of ventilation made the bathroom feel suffocating, the sand-frosted door gave little privacy, and the flush started acting up on the second day. Our room was quite small for three, and the rug was dirty. Staff weren't very accommodating when we asked for an extra blanket and towel, neither was provided. Breakfast was average at best, and it was surprising that coffee wasn't included with the tea tray. Getting there was also awkward, as the hotel sits in a narrow back alley that cars struggle to reach. The modern room style and central location were positives, but the poor cleanliness, unfriendly service, and missing basics made the stay uncomfortable.

The rooms have a modern, elegant feel and a contemporary design, a real find in busy Thamell, where other places can be overpriced and mediocre. It’s centrally located in popular Thamel but set back from the main road, so it stays quiet. Management and staff were helpful and attentive, and they look after the property to a high standard. It offers great value and is a smart option compared with its competitors. Highly recommended.

I was surprised to find such a calm, quiet hotel right in the heart of the Tamal district. The place was clean, breakfast was very tasty, and the staff were friendly. Service at reception and in the rooftop restaurant was especially pleasant. I won't list all the names, but this is somewhere I'd happily return to. Thank you, and see you again in the future! 🫂
