Woodapple Hotel and Spa

The rooftop restaurant was a highlight, with a lovely view over Kathmandu while we ate. Woodapple Hotel and Spa also felt like a calm escape from the busy streets, tucked away on a quiet side street in Thamel. Everything was spotless, from the bedding and towels to the bathroom, and all the staff gave excellent service. One receptionist whose name I didn't catch greeted us with such a genuine smile that we felt at home right away.

I noticed a real difference between two staff members during breakfast. A young man was attentive and cheerful, making an effort to connect with guests and offering help even though breakfast was self-service. He was especially thoughtful with the children. Another staff member, a woman, seemed irritated and often focused on her phone. When we or other guests called on her, she appeared uninterested and didn't always help. That was disappointing to see in a hospitality setting. It was striking to see such different attitudes in the same place, and it naturally made me wonder whether I would return. Guests should be the priority over mobile phone use. I may have misunderstood something, and I'm only describing what I personally observed.

We were especially happy to see Mr. Prabesh again at breakfast, after he had served us at another hotel the previous day. He was so dedicated and warm, even after working there the night before, that I wondered how he managed such long hours. His smile and positive attitude stayed consistent, and he responded whenever we called, helping us without hesitation. Thanks to the management for the professional service. Dinner was a little disappointing because some staff didn't seem to know the menu or the dishes well enough. Still, Mr. Prabesh's professionalism, care, and friendliness made the experience memorable.

Ram, the general manager, deserves a special thank you for always accommodating our requests. The location was great, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and our spacious room was spotless with really comfortable beds. It felt like our home in Kathmandu. We had an amazing stay and highly recommend it.
