Dorje's Resort & Spa

I was especially impressed by the people behind Dorje’s Resort & Spa. I met the owner, Mr. Dorje, and hearing about his vision and his efforts to create jobs for young people in Nepal made the place feel even more meaningful. The hotel is around three years old, with a lovely design that gives it a real resort feel. The staff were professional, friendly, and keen to make our stay comfortable. For a luxury stay in Pokhara, I’d definitely recommend it.

The setting was quiet but still close to everything, and we had a great time celebrating my sister’s birthday with friends here last week. Our rooms felt special, with beautiful details and a luxurious, nature focused feel. We also had massages and facials, and both the service and food were top tier. I’d happily recommend staying here in Pokhara.

The breakfast stood out: lots of tasty, healthy choices, on par with top resorts focused on sustainable food. I also liked the thoughtful touches, with toiletries in ceramic containers and water in glass bottles instead of plastic. Our room was spacious and clean, with quality wood and materials. The large bathroom had a freestanding tub and a lake view. The whole resort felt special without being pretentious, and the team, including Ganesh and guest services, looked after us really well. Mr. Dorje has made a lovely little oasis away from the lakeside bustle, about a 10 minute cab ride away. I hope to come back.

We ate at the hotel most days because the food was so fresh, flavorful, and consistently good. The pool was another highlight, and our spacious, comfortable room had a private balcony looking out over the lake. The hills above Pokhara make a beautiful setting, and the nature conscious design gives the property a peaceful feel. Staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. We felt well cared for and would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.
