The location made getting around easy, with Phewa Lake a short walk away and restaurants, cafes, and shops close by. I loved looking out at the lake and hills from my room, especially at sunrise and sunset. The balcony was a nice spot to unwind. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and had the essentials. Wi-Fi worked well, and the hot shower was dependable. Breakfast was fresh and tasty each morning. The friendly staff also helped arrange local tours, paragliding, and airport transfers, so those plans were easy. Lake Side View Hotel was good value for the comfort, service, and location. I’d stay here again and recommend it to visitors.

We had trouble with the room and the staff from the start. There was a strong unpleasant smell, a cockroach, and a burned electrical outlet that smelled of smoke and didn’t feel safe. The kettle didn’t work, and it took three replacements before we got one that did. The facilities seemed poorly maintained. The location wasn’t great either, and there are better, safer, more reliable places nearby. At checkout, we counted the full bill several times and put the money on the table in front of the female staff member, who was likely the owner’s wife. We turned briefly to check our backpack, and 1000 NPR was gone. She said we still owed 1000 NPR. We were in a hurry to catch a bus, so we couldn’t argue and paid again. We’d also asked a male staff member, possibly the owner, to book our bus to Kathmandu and arrange a taxi. He agreed to the price and said it was set. The next morning, near bus time, he wouldn’t wake up despite our repeated calls. The same woman came out looking as if she’d just woken up, argued about the agreed price, and raised the taxi fare on the spot. With no information or confirmation from them, we had to go to the bus park to buy tickets ourselves. This felt like scamming behavior, especially from the female staff member, though I can’t be sure of her relationship to the owner. We found the service poor and the rooms unsafe. I’d avoid the place.

After a day of bungee jumping, the five of us, friends from Bangladesh, wanted coffee at the hotel restaurant. The waiter said they couldn’t take an order for just coffee because it was “rush hour.” We were staying in two rooms and had eaten lunch elsewhere, but he still refused. We would have paid or ordered more if needed. We just wanted to sit down for coffee, and the refusal felt disappointing and disrespectful. It also felt as though we were treated differently because we were from Bangladesh, especially with most of the other guests being foreigners. I hope management looks into it and makes sure guests are treated equally and respectfully.

The owner was helpful and easy to talk to, and the staff were cooperative. My room was clean and the food was delicious. If you’re in Pokhara, it’s worth visiting Hotel Lakeside Pvt Ltd. Overall, Lake Side View Hotel is comfortable, good value, and warmly welcoming, with a great location. I’d stay there again and recommend it to others.
