My Hotel

The location is good, and the service was very good. My room was neat and clean.

Breakfast had a huge selection, including fresh fruit, eggs, pastries, and local specialties. Everything was delicious, and the dining area felt clean and relaxing. An amazing buffet each morning!

I booked through Booking.com yesterday, but the hotel told me this morning that they were sold out and had no room for me. They shouldn’t have accepted the reservation if nothing was available. This caused a lot of inconvenience and disappointment. Please address the problem so it doesn’t happen to other guests.

The room and location were fine, but the service was a horrible experience. From the moment I came through the front door at My Hotel in Pokhara, I felt unwelcome. The staff were unfriendly and rude, unlike the exceptional hospitality I’d experienced at other hotels in Nepal. I usually find it easy to please me, and rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was really poor. We asked the hotel to do a small load of laundry. I was quoted 450 npr, then charged 2700 npr, or $27 Cad. They said the load weighed 6kg at 450 per kg. That price per kilo hadn’t been explained beforehand, and there was no way the clothes weighed 6kg. I expect to pay a bit extra for hotel laundry, but this was beyond reason. When I politely objected, staff laughed and said that was just how things were in Nepal. It felt rude and disrespectful, and I felt taken advantage of. Reception didn’t disagree when I questioned the weight, but said the bill had come to her and she couldn’t do anything. It’s a shame because the reviews are generally good. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that seem to want your business and to make your stay pleasant. I wouldn’t return.
