The Beehive

The room looked decent, but the rest was poor. There was no hot water, just water that was cold or even colder, despite the guy insisting one tap was a different temperature. The toilet barely flushed, the towels were dirty, and service was poor. We were given one towel for a two-bedroom room. When we asked for another, he argued that we were only entitled to one, then eventually brought us a dirty one.

The room was clean and everything worked, with a ten-minute walk to the main lakeside park. The price was great for the quality. I was suspicious at first because a hotel employee met us at the tourist bus park, shared our taxi, and took us there.

I spent seven days here around my trek, before and after, and it was one of the best places I've stayed on my Asia trip. The rooms are roomy and clean, with hot showers, and there's a restaurant next to the hotel. The internet was the one weak spot. It only connected in rooms near the rooftop. If you're heading to Pokhara and trekking in Annapurna, this is a great place to stay. I found the local hostels less pleasant, and they charge more. Enjoy your stay.

This was the best budget hotel I've stayed in. For only 700 Nepali rupees, we got a double room that wasn't tiny, with clean beds, a clean bathroom, and 24-hour hot water and Wi-Fi. The staff were good too.
