The kitchen gets crowded pretty fast, though having lots of outdoor tables gave us another place to prep food. The beds, atmosphere, and location were among the best I've had at a hostel. It felt really homey, and I had a great stay.

I had a great time here and would happily come back soon. Everything stayed clean, and the staff were so friendly. The garden, lounge, and kitchen are lovely, and being near Ponsonby Road made it easy to find somewhere for an evening out.

We got such a warm welcome after a 30-hour flight to New Zealand, and the team were lovely. It's a quiet, clean place with a peaceful green terrace. You can walk to the city and supermarkets, and there's hot water in the kitchen for tea or instant coffee at any hour.

Naomi(or Noemi? Sorry!!) was really kind. I had to leave after finding a house, and even though I checked out at 4 pm, they refunded me for the nights I couldn't use. The rooms were clean and tidy, the bed was super comfy, and the price was reasonable. I felt very good at Haka Lodge. Definitely recommend it!

I stayed a second time and got a larger room, which was really roomy for the price. The beds are comfortable, though the usual rooms and facilities are on the small side. Still, it's great value given the location. Haka lodge has laundry onsite too, $8 for a wash and dry, or $4 each.
