Nga Whare Manatu

Birdsong at twilight and dawn, and a stunning sunrise seen from our warm, comfy bed, were highlights of our quiet, secluded night away. The tiny house(?) is modern and tastefully decorated. The host left a bevy of tasty snacks, and there's a coffee pod machine to use. The bath is wonderfully deep, and good hot water fills it in about half an hour. We'd absolutely recommend it and plan to visit again.

The outdoor bathtub is the best. It's quiet, private, and stunning even when it rains. We arrived on a cold day to find the room already warm, with the lights on. This place felt magical, and I'm glad we chose it for the break we needed. Can't wait to stay again.

This was the best night we spent in New Zealand. The room was tidy and really well put together, and we got a little birthday surprise for my partner, a tray of sweets and chocolate. The woman who greeted us had a lovely smile and was polite, welcoming and professional. The owner was also very professional, available, and quick to answer our requests. The kitchen is fully equipped, even with a dishwasher, and the Wi-Fi was great. Using the bathtub was easy, and the setting is magnificent. You can enjoy the open sky or close it off, and the sunrise was brilliant. Birdsong accompanied breakfast, which came with fresh yogurt, fresh orange juice, pastries, coffee and tea. The pastries were poor quality, though, and we tend to prefer savoury food. Before leaving, we liked the walk-in shower for a good wash. One last small downside: we only found an iron, not an ironing board, which made ironing our clothes awkward, though maybe we just missed it. It was a great short stay, thank you!

We wish we'd booked for longer. The villa is stunning and finished to a very high standard, and breakfast was lovely. The bed was comfy and the room nice and warm. Sitting in the outside bath under the stars, listening to the wildlife, was a real treat.
