The building has a history that fits this mining town. Hot water for the showers and washing comes from an old-style coal boiler, which makes you feel closer to the way of life here. You don’t just learn about it, you get to live it! The facilities are great, with free WiFi, made beds, soap, and towels, almost like staying in a hotel. There’s delicious baked food every day. It’s a very nice hostel for a break during your journey!

I had a really good week here. It might not be the fanciest hostel, but the great people and very, very friendly manager more than make up for that. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a nice communal space to hang out in, and there’s a pool table for a bit of fun. Free internet made it easy to say hello to all my Facebook friends, too. A good place to stay. Cheers.

This is a nice BBH backpackers in an old building with its own charm. It’s the first backpackers I’ve seen that offers a hot bath and a free beer.

Free cream cakes, that’s all I need to say.
