We spent hours relaxing in the private hot pool under the open sky, then wandered around the outdoor areas watching the adorable sheeps. Our studio apartment was incredibly spacious, with room to breathe, and Northfield Luxury Accommodation, Methven completely blew us away. From the moment we arrived it felt like a little sanctuary, thoughtfully put together and artfully designed. The host was astonishingly sweet, welcoming, and attentive. Every detail, from the décor to the complimentary walnuts, milks, hot chocolates, and chocolates, felt carefully considered. It made our stay unforgettable. Pure magic from start to finish. I wish I could give it 10 stars.

Lovely hosts, a gorgeous dog, and beautiful grounds. The place felt divinely comfortable, with understated luxury and attention to every detail. Just right for a couple, and the perfect bolt hole for an easy drive to Mt Hutt.

The helpful host was a pleasure to chat with and gave us some local tips. We spent three nights in May, enough time to explore the stunning surrounding High Country and go for some walks, though we wished we could have stayed longer. We were in the new (2018) Studio addition, a small old farm cottage style space attached to a century-old converted grand house on the edge of the village. There’s a cute outdoor verandah with comfortable rattan chairs and a glimpse of Mount Hutt. Inside, the design and tasteful décor are gorgeous, with leather couches, a huge smart TV with Netflix, a well-equipped kitchenette, quality crockery and glassware, and a huge, extra-comfortable king-size bed with super-soft cotton sheets and lots of pillows. The spacious en-suite shower room was divine, with a low sensor night light, great toiletries, a power shower, painted paneling, lovely tiles, glass shower, and fluffy towels. There are so many lovely touches. We highly recommend it.
