Comfort Inn Westshore Beach

We booked two nights but left after one because we couldn't breathe inside the unit. The staff kindly let us switch units, but the second one had the same issue. Housekeeping uses strong scented air fresheners and deodorizers that linger throughout the cabin, including on the carpets, linens and towels. I had a bad headache, scratchy throat, runny nose and sinus problems during the stay and for 24 hours afterward. This could be a major problem for anyone sensitive to air fresheners (VOCs) or scented incense. I also paid to do laundry, but their only washing machine didn't spin, leaving all our clothes soaking wet. No one was at the front office for hours to help, so we had to leave with wet laundry and weren't reimbursed for the broken machine. For these reasons, I can't recommend this motel.

The place was clean, comfortable, and really good. I couldn't give it five stars because my bad knee made getting into the pool difficult, so I wasn't able to use it. Better pool access would help. Apart from that, I have no complaints.

The cleaner who stopped by was lovely, but the stay didn't feel worth the money. We booked for two and found only one chair and one coffee mug. There were ants on the kitchen bench, and the oven wouldn't work. The shower is a wet-room setup, but water ran into the kitchen after about two minutes. The heat pump had a universal remote instead of its original one, and I couldn't switch it off or change the temperature. It was set too cool for midwinter. The room itself was tidy and clean.

The rooms are starting to look a little worn, but it's a handy spot for walks and the stay rates are cheap. The food was nice too.
