Fern Motel

I’m only three days into a week-long stay, but I’m already really impressed. The room was very clean when I arrived, and room service has been excellent and friendly. The owners are lovely too. I’d give this motel 10/10, would stay again if I needed to, and would tell friends and family about it. Thanks for the great service :)

The rooms were lovely and worked well for us and our teens, and the kids had a great time in the pool. What we didn’t like was the emergency housing tenants. One woman was vacuuming at 3 in the morning, and there were people coming and going, talking loudly and smoking outside overnight. It made the place look messy.

For a worthwhile stay without luxury, I was very satisfied with this motel and would recommend it. It’s not in the centre, but PAK'nSAVE is a two-minute drive or ten-minute walk away, with lots of food and other things you might need for your trip. We stayed two nights, and they replenished the toilet paper and other essentials. Reception was great when we checked in, and everyone was friendly. The facilities covered our needs. The sofa wasn’t in good condition, and the bathroom combines the toilet and shower, so you have to wait when it’s occupied. Each room has a TV, plus a big one in the living room with lots of channels. The Wi-Fi needs improvement, it was super slow. If you don’t mind that, it’s fine, but if you need internet and don’t have your own 4G, you may want to reconsider.

The managers were pleasant, but the cleaners need to pick up their pace. Our room was dark and smelled mouldy. The net curtains on the glass door had reddish-brown stains that looked like blood, though they may have been from something else. The walls could use a proper wash too.
