We could see the township and harbour from our room, with the morning sunrise and the town lights as the sun went down. The host took extra care to make sure we were comfortable, and breakfast was really good, with something different each day. The Wansbeck is a lovely two-storey home, just a 7-8 minute walk from the Oamaru heritage area. It's a great place to base yourself.

John and Carol made me feel at home as soon as I walked into the Wansbeck. I'd never visited Oamaru before, and the hosts were incredibly attentive. The rooms are warm and comfortable, and beautifully furnished. They also made an incredible breakfast from fresh local ingredients. Watching the sunrise with a cup of tea in the conservatory of the Monterrey room is a must. 10/10, I can't recommend the Wansbeck highly enough.

I stayed at The Wansbeck with my daughter and nephew, and the experience turned out to be memorable. Carol greeted us so warmly, and our rooms were comfortable and warm. The cooked breakfast the next morning was delicious. I'd highly recommend The Wansbeck if you're visiting or passing through Oamaru.

My Aunt Helene asked me to leave this review for her and is still praising the hosts and the home after her stay towards the end of last year. She found the accommodation charming, fabulous, clean, and comfortable, with spacious rooms that had everything she might need. The hosts welcomed her and her friend, Diane, and went above and beyond to make them feel at home. They also had great local knowledge. They both really appreciated the care they were shown.
