Good vibes all around, and you can tell the staff put a lot of effort and care into the place. The campsite is lovely, with large, well-kept spaces and clean, well-equipped facilities. The kitchen has pots, pans, cutting boards, cutlery, and plates, which makes cooking much easier. The ladies’ bathroom has a nice hairdryer and even a hair straightener. There’s music playing in the bathrooms too, which is nice at night when it can feel a bit scary going in the dark.

One of the best nights I’ve had so far, and the cabin was amazing. The front desk staff were friendly and informative, and the room was clean and comfortable. You can park right beside the cabin, which is close to the showers, kitchen, and other facilities. The laundry machines were very nice. There isn’t much room for luggage, so the cabin may be too small for two people, and the WiFi wasn’t that good. Still, it’s a very nice place for a one-night stay.

The A-Frame was a nice cabin, with a little covered deck and picnic table outside, but inside it was small and the bed took up most of the space. Light came in under the curtains straight onto the pillows, and with the back of the cabin right by the street, the street lights made a sleep mask pretty much necessary for a good night’s sleep. I stayed one night in the off season. The location is nice and fairly quiet, though it’s right by State Highway 8 and loud trucks and other vehicles are audible. The bathroom block near the cabins and children’s play areas was being renovated, so I had to use the one by reception. It wasn’t heated, though music played inside. The shower cubicles opened directly to the outdoors without being enclosed, which was very uncomfortable in Omarama’s temperatures.

The poor internet was the main annoyance. Most TV channels use the connection, and the picture kept stopping every 30 seconds, which made watching anything frustrating. Otherwise, I’d recommend this place for its location and value. We stopped for a quick night, and our unit was warm and comfortable, with a comfy bed and nice amenities. There was a small issue with the kettle, but the staff quickly brought us a replacement. Restaurants are close enough to walk to if you don’t feel like cooking.
