Baden Lodge Motel

Purvi deserves a big thank you for how well she looks after the motel and its guests. She was warm, kind, and even arranged to have our clothes washed and cleaned, such a thoughtful gesture. Her dedication really sets Baden Lodge Motel apart. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay in clean, comfortable, well-maintained rooms. Highly recommend Baden Lodge Motel in Rotorua. We'd gladly stay again.

The lady was very nice and helpful, but the place was dirty and smelled bad. We even found a cockroach. She said there'd be a charge to clean our laundry, but some of the clothes came back stained blue. This place definitely doesn't meet a 4-star standard. Hidden Lake Hotel is a good example of what I mean. The owner would need more staff and better cleaning standards to reach that level.

The owners were so kind and accommodating. I showed up thinking I'd booked a room for that night, only to realize I'd got the date wrong. They explained how to cancel and get a refund, and luckily had a spare room for me. I was very grateful. The motel is old and the room was basic, but the bed was clean and comfortable, which was all I needed. Thanks so much!

The location was the only thing going for it, so I gave that three stars. After checking in and seeing the room, I left straight away. It was an expensive lesson. Everything looked tired and dated, and clearly hadn't been looked after. Of the three heaters, only one half-worked, and the place didn't look clean. The booking form says to pre-book the spa, but doesn't mention the $30 surcharge. Judging by how the spa looked, I wouldn't wash a dog in it. The whole place needs to be bulldozed and completely rebuilt.
