Marianne and René made us feel genuinely welcome, with an authentic warmth that shaped the whole stay. Their homemade food was a real revelation, full of delicious treats, and their suggestions for nearby sights were spot-on. The setting is stunning and peaceful, near the charming town of Takaka. A fantastic five-star experience and a perfect retreat.

The sauna was excellent, though we found the hot tub a little cooler than we'd have liked. Our room suited us perfectly, with a garden view and a large ensuite bathroom. Breakfast each morning was varied and delicious, made with fresh food from the hosts' 31-acre farm, where they're busy working. There are only two sets of guests at a time, which keeps the atmosphere relaxed and unhurried. The hosts, who are from the Netherlands, are warm and open, and happy to suggest hikes and adventures. Golden Caves BnB is also a wonderful base for exploring the many interesting, breathtakingly beautiful places in and near Abel Tasman park. I highly recommend it.

We had such a restful time at Golden Caves, thanks in part to the wonderful hosts. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. We liked it so much that we added an extra night, and we'd happily return.

We stayed three nights and loved it. The nighttime spa experience with the stars overhead was really unique. Shops and restaurants are relatively close, and there's lots to do in the area. :)

Everything was fresh from the farm, and breakfast was a dream. The hosts were caring and so friendly. We had a wonderful stay, and I can highly recommend this accommodation. Thank you so much!
