Bella Vista Taupo

The room was clean and fine for one night, but the booking and room setup were frustrating. I called directly to request a ground floor unit because my husband had torn knee ligaments and found steps difficult. I was assured we’d have a king bed downstairs, but when we arrived we were told the room was upstairs. After I explained, they moved us to a ground floor unit, though it was much smaller than we’d been led to expect and had a small queen bed. There was only one bedside table. When I asked for another, I was told rooms only come with one, which seemed odd since that leaves one person without a spot for glasses and other things. The receptionist eventually brought a table from reception. The Wi-Fi was also very weak and kept dropping out, so trying to work was frustrating and pointless.

For a solo night, it was just what I needed: a quiet, safe-feeling place with a spotless room and comfortable bed. The compact studio was upstairs, with good parking, easy check-in and everything close by. There seemed to be lots of sales reps in branded cars staying there, so it looks like a regular overnight stop for many. Thanks for the fresh milk 👍🏼. I’d recommend it.

This was the best of the four motels we stayed in over five days. It was clean and efficient, with all the right amenities. Check-in was very quick, and although it cost the most on our mini-tour, the service made it feel worthwhile. There wasn’t much small talk, but they still made us feel appreciated and welcome. I’d recommend it.

We stayed two nights on the way back north from Napier, and Sharon’s welcome and service were just as good as before. She’s a lovely lady who really cares about her guests and was professional throughout. The motel is a ten-minute walk from town. We think Taupo is fabulous.
