Golden Crown Hotel Al Seeb Muscat

The room was in good shape, and the heating worked well. My main issue was the road outside, with vehicles passing by and making a lot of noise. For decent food options, you also have to go out of the hotel.

The one real plus was that there was no traffic jam. The location itself is excellent, and I wish they’d build a new hotel there. As for this one, the rooms are small, the WiFi didn’t work at all, and there were no hangers in either the bathroom or the wardrobe. The bathtub is tiny, and the door key is mechanical. Reception was okay, but staff asked for cash for extra bottles of water, though you can negotiate with him.

The bathroom water never got properly hot, and while I was asleep a small cockroach attacked me. The beds were uncomfortable and shifted while we slept. I stayed three nights, but they didn’t clean the room or replace the towels. It was a lot less than I expected.

For 15 RO, the price was quite reasonable, and check-in and checkout were quick. The room and toilet were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Hot water was my one complaint: the flow was weak and it seemed to go cold quickly, so the shower wasn’t what I needed. If you don’t have business in this area, the location may not suit you. The hotel had only been open a few months when I stayed, so hopefully they keep it this clean and tidy.
