Riyam Hotel Muscat

There’s no room service, and the doors don’t have locks. Apart from one staff member, the rest of the team were good. We checked in on 4-Mar-26 and checked out on 6-Mar-26, around 10-10:15pm. There were two 500ml bottles of water in the room on arrival. Around 11pm to midnight on 5-Mar, I asked for four bottles. The front desk employee bluntly said there were already two in the room. I understand I might have to pay for the extra two, but two bottles a day is standard, especially during Ramadan. That staff member on the 5-Mar night shift acted smart with people. I gave him a piece of my mind on the way out, and paid him extra cash for the water, hoping it might help him buy some manners and logic. I don’t know where those are sold, but they say if you look hard enough, the universe will lead you to them. Good luck!

It was an affordable stay in a quiet area, with parking and breakfast available for an extra charge. The service was very good, and I really liked the hotel view, especially the pool in the morning.

We spent two nights here. Breakfast was good, and the surrounding mountains are beautiful. The pool looked clean, but we didn’t use it, and we didn’t try the gym either. Finding the hotel was tricky at first, several taxi drivers got lost, and there’s nothing nearby like a supermarket. Hygiene was only just acceptable. The towels were worn, and a black bar across the TV screen made normal viewing impossible. The staff on site didn’t know how to fix it because the manager or owner wasn’t there. After we came back from a day trip that evening, a new TV had been installed by the next day, and it worked.

A calm place with nice service, a comfortable room, and a little outdoor area where you can relax by the small pool. It’s well located for seeing old Mutrah, including the fish market and museum. Good value for the price, thanks.
