The deck outside our room at Casa Acuario on Carenero Island sat right over the water, with gorgeous views and plenty of boats to watch. We loved our stay. The room had everything we needed, with thoughtful touches that made it comfortable, and breakfast was delicious both days. I'd recommend the omelette and banana pancake. The honor-system bar meant we could have a little happy hour on the deck without going into town for beer. There are some excellent restaurants nearby, and the town is only a couple of minutes away by boat. Thanks to JP and Mandy for being such thoughtful hosts!

The balcony hammock was a great place to watch boats pass and waves roll in, and it's a view I'll be dreaming about for a long time. Casa Acuario is a beautiful island refuge, impeccably maintained and hard to beat for its look. There's greenery and floral arrangements everywhere, with gorgeous vintage decor alongside classic style. The staff are incredibly kind, and the breakfast menu is one of the best I've had at a hotel. I already miss the banana pancakes and yogurt bowl. The owners are so friendly and have clearly put their heart and soul into the place. We've recommended it to family and friends already, and plan to come back.

Waking up and jumping straight into the water under the house to snorkel was unbeatable, especially with our kids. The food was delicious, and the owners and staff were incredibly attentive and sweet. Casa acuario is beautifully and thoughtfully designed with nature and the environment in mind, and the location can't be beat. This whole experience was 10/10, a trip with our kids we'll never forget. It's the kind of place that rarely exists, and we'd recommend it to absolutely anyone, especially families.

Mandy and JP are wonderful hosts, and Gabriel and the rest of the staff go above and beyond. The canine companions at Casa Aquario were an added bonus, and we hope to bring our whole family back someday. What a gem. We've never stayed in a room so well appointed. Every detail felt thoughtfully chosen for a delightful Caribbean holiday.

We booked two rooms for our two families back in November 2025, and it was an amazing stay. The kids could jump into the water and snorkel right by the property. Swimming among schools of fish and exploring the coral reefs there felt surreal. The cafe was available in the mornings, which perked us up before heading out to see Bocas Del Toro. The location made it easy to walk to local restaurants and beaches, catch a boat taxi from the private dock, or just relax with a book on the deck. A lot of thoughtful touches made the stay even better, from umbrellas, USB chargers and filtered drinking water to local specialty coffees for sale and a gooseneck kettle with a pour-over setup in the room. Mandy, JP, Gabby, and the staff took great care of us and made it feel like home away from home.
