LA CHOZA Playa Venao

The workers were so friendly, and the bathrooms were clean. It's really close to the sea, with activities and good service too. Such a lovely place to stay!

The rooftop deck is spacious and cheap to use, and there's free coffee in the morning, which was great. Being close to the beach made checking the surf and getting out there easy. Ido is hilarious, Yael keeps things organized and runs a tight ship, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Service was quick, easy, and good. The price is low, so it might work if you're on a tight budget, but the quality is really poor. A lot of things are partly broken and badly maintained. There's trash all over the back area, the kitchen gas pipes are loose and seem dangerous, I don't know when the stove was last cleaned, and the fridges aren't organized well.

We were there in mid July 2025 and had an incredible stay, despite seeing some bad reviews. It's a very backpacky place, which we liked, and you can relax anywhere. The staff were relaxed, joyful, fun, and generous, and it was easy to connect with locals. Our private room had shared bathrooms and showers with hot water. The big kitchen has storage for everyone and plenty of pans. You can also rent boards or use the ice bath. For food, try Asados Playa Venao. It's cheap and laid back, I recommend it.
