The only snag was my own mistake. I forgot to check the safe before leaving and had already driven 6 hours to Panama City when I noticed. I messaged Amir on WhatsApp, and by the next morning he’d arranged to get it transported to Panama City. That was absolutely above and beyond. My father and I stayed two nights in the bluff cabin at Hostel Familiar Rolo. The location is convenient, with many excellent restaurants nearby, and there’s also a kitchen with fridge space if you want to cook. Orlando and Amir made check-in and booking a snorkeling excursion easy. They welcomed us whenever we came back and seemed genuinely glad we were enjoying the area. The grounds were always clean, the room was spotless, and surfboards, bodyboards, and kayaks were available to rent onsite. Free morning coffee was a great perk, pun intended. I highly recommend Hostel Familia Rolo, even for just one night in Santa Catalina.

You can cook in the shared kitchen and dining area, or walk to lots of good restaurants nearby. The surrounding area gets busy, but the property itself felt calm and quiet. The family who own it clearly take pride in keeping the place in top shape. It was exceptionally clean and well maintained, with genuinely friendly, excellent service. Hostal Familiar Rolo is a fantastic oceanfront stay in Santa Catalina, right on the water with easy beach access, beautiful outdoor spaces, and astounding sunset views. They also booked us a snorkeling day trip to Coiba, which made the outing easy and stress-free. Highly recommended if you’re after a clean, comfortable place in a great location. We had a very relaxing stay.

The location made it easy to explore on foot, and we didn’t use the car once in four days. Our only regret was not being able to stay an extra night xD. They arranged everything for our Coiba Island excursion, and it all went smoothly. We came as a family with our two children, ages 6 and 13, during spring break. Staying in the beachfront house was the highlight of our Panama trip. The peacefulness and views were unbeatable, with breathtaking sunsets every evening. The staff were so welcoming and attentive that we felt right at home. The communal kitchen was spotless and well maintained, and complimentary coffee each morning was a lovely touch. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It was one of the best stays I’ve had anywhere, and I’m grateful for the experience. The family running the place were so kind and helpful. There are lots of good spots to hang out on the beautiful property, whether you want a hammock among the trees or a place to work remotely with an incredible view. It’s right on the town beach, handy for a boat trip to Coiba or a quick swim. You can also rent a kayak and paddle to Santa Catalina island, about 20 mins away. I highly recommend staying here.

The garden was the highlight, with a beautiful view across the beach and hammocks under the big trees for relaxing. The location right on the beach is unbeatable. We had a lovely stay, and the staff were welcoming and super helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and modern.
