I live in Peru, and for me the beds and shower at Machu Wasi are wonderful, new, soft, and warm. That's better than most places and really the main thing that matters here. The Hostel is tucked away from the noisier parts of town. They also returned money my little girl had lost in the room. We didn't try breakfast since there are so many places to eat.
The map pin isn't quite right, the place is on the riverfront. It's a perfectly good hostel for visiting machu Picchu, with clean rooms, showers that are hot-ish, free luggage storage, free ticket printing, and check-in at 10 a.m. Outside noise gets through the thin windows, so bring earplugs. The continental breakfast was okay and starts at 5 a.m.
A few drawbacks: it's a little hidden away, and there's no view from the room. Still, it's only 23€, and the beds are comfortable, the place is quiet, and the staff are friendly. There's hot water and wifi, plus check-in at 10 a.m. Shops and restaurants are nearby, though that's not hard in Aquas Calientes since everything is walkable. They'll pack breakfast for you to take before leaving for Machu Picchu.
It's a new, well-equipped place right by the river, and the service was very good. Breakfast is good for the price, though it's a shame they stop serving it so early. We'd come back.
