Edilberto made my time in Chachapoya so much better. He helped me find the tours I wanted, suggested good restaurants, checked that I made it to the tours on time, and asked how they went when I got back. He even booked my bus ticket. I felt at home in the quiet, lovely house, and still miss my stay there. The bed was really comfortable too. KG Guest House wasn't my first choice when I was looking for somewhere to stay and tours. The agency I'd contacted first could take a long time to reply, and I only found KG while waiting to board my flight to Chachapoya. I was exhausted and nearly gave up on the tours, but choosing KG at the last minute was the right call. At first I wasn't keen on the location, a bit far from town center. Walking into town felt rough with jet lag and the altitude, even though I know it isn't very high. But this stay ended up being the highlight of my Peru trip, and the only time I got a good night's sleep for the rest of it. I really like Chachapoya too, it's quiet and not very touristy. Berto was a fantastic host, always ready to help with our travel questions. The hotel was comfortable and had everything you'd want from a small place. We had plenty of privacy, a filling breakfast, and friendly staff. I'll be back and would recommend it to friends.

Berto, the owner, was one of the most considerate and helpful people I've met in Peru. His advice on places to explore was invaluable. The lodge itself is peaceful and immaculately cared for, with beautiful rooms, very comfy beds, and a hot shower. Breakfast was delicious and filling, with biscuits, eggs, humitas, fresh coffee, and papaya juice. There's a garage to keep your car overnight too. I'd recommend it to friends and will gladly return again and again. Thanks for a lovely stay!
