The price is good for the location, and the rooms are basic but laid out well. But the room wasn't properly cleaned. On the first day, I found makeup and hair on my dirty sheets and got a bedbug bite. The reception staff could be quite unfriendly too. A friend had to leave early from a room we'd reserved and paid for, so I asked for the key to keep using it for storage and for others. They refused, even though it was paid for. That had never happened to me at another hotel, where normally a paid room can be used until checkout.

We stayed for three nights on the backside of Plaza de Armas, with the Plaza literally around the corner. I always felt safe with the doorman at the entrance. The bright, clean lobby had a water bottle filler, a Mate de Coca station, and two computers for guests without internet on their phones. Our room was adequate, clean, and unassuming. We had breakfast once, and it was fine but nothing remarkable. We didn't eat in the restaurant otherwise.

The service was very kind. The hotel itself is very good, though a room facing the street can be a bit loud, but not too much. The elevator wasn't working on either of our two visits in one week, even after they fixed it. If stairs are a problem for you, I wouldn't recommend it.

The location is very close to the main square, restaurants, and souvenir shops. We stayed three days and two nights with breakfast included, and were lucky to get room 214, facing inward and therefore quieter. The hotel feels like a one-stop place for services and is good value. There's a water refill point in the lobby, plus money exchange, though the rates aren't very competitive and it's useful mainly in a pinch. Free coca leaves and water are also available in the lobby. Our room was spacious, the heater worked well, and the shower had steady hot water at a good pressure. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had enough variety, and they changed some dishes day to day, which many hotels don't do. I found the bed decent, but not especially comfortable, and there were no disposable slippers. I'd definitely come back if I'm in Cusco again.
