Hotel Sol del Oriente Cusco

We ended up here after a last-minute cancellation at our original hotel, and it turned out to be a lovely place with a family feel. It's convenient for sightseeing and places to eat. We used the on-site restaurant and small convenience store most days for meals, water, and snacks. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and served in portions big enough to satisfy. Every day they offered a light breakfast with bread, ham, cheese, eggs, fruit, juice, cereal, and yogurt. Tea and coffee were available around the clock. Our room was large, and the bed was comfortable, though the room felt unfinished. There was a big shelving unit but no hangers, and no lamps or fan. The temperature was fine for us, but we couldn't find a way to control the heat or AC. There were lots of outlets. The bathroom was nicely appointed, with a walk-in shower. I didn't notice any shampoo or conditioner, though we'd brought our own. The entrance is gated and staff are there 24 hours a day. The little breakfast and tea area was a nice spot to plan the day or play cards. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable for what was offered.
