I keep coming back to Cordilllera Escalera, this was my third stay. It’s a perfect place to get away from Tarapoto’s noisy streets and reconnect with nature, or do a plant medicine dieta. Love it ❤️ 🙏.

The grounds are a gardener’s dream, with beautiful trees, flowers, and plants I’d never heard of. Our cabin was spotless, and breakfast was excellent. My son and I had a really enjoyable stay. Diarmid (spelling? Sorry if I'm wrong), one of the owners, was very friendly and clearly wanted us to have a good time. Diarmid speaks English as his first language, and we spoke Spanish with Katy and (insert name I forget here). My son is fluent, but even my few words were enough for us to communicate easily. One morning I came down the hill for coffee to take back, and it was ready right away. She even insisted on carrying the tray up to our cabin, though I was heading there anyway. They really try hard to make you happy. Thank you, I’d stay again.

The setting is beautiful, and the hotel has a warm, homey feel. It’s conveniently located near Tarapoto Airport, and the staff are very kind. I also really enjoyed the delicious breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️

There’s an impressive range of wildlife and plants throughout the property, and an orchid vivarium and the Urku animal rescue center are nearby, about 5 and 15 minutes away on foot. This ecolodge feels wonderfully immersed in the Amazon rainforest. The private lodges are comfortable and great for disconnecting from work or studies, especially since there are no TVs. Breakfast was alright.
