Marlon's House Cusco - Hostel

A calm spot in busy Cusco, within walking distance of San Blas and close to the market. The staff were lovely, and I liked the simple breakfast. They also let us leave our bags there during our four day Salkantay hike. Really nice place, I'd recommend it. 🌟🌟🌟☺️

Marlon is like an uncle in a faraway country, making sure your trip goes smoothly. I booked three tours through him, in Nazca, Cusco and Puerto Maldonado, for a good price, and he arranged things from our arrival in each city until we left. You can message him about anything and he replies within minutes. The staff are friendly and helpful, too. Marlon's House is very well located, with a fee laundry service two minutes away, a large supermarket five minutes away, and Plaza de Armas about five minutes away. The rooms are good value for the price.

The private room walls were very thin, so I think a dorm is a better deal. Still, the place has a bohemian feel, a laid-back atmosphere and good breakfast. Customer service was fantastic, especially from Marlon. When I ran into a problem, he went above and beyond to help me sort it out and make the rest of my travels go smoothly.

We didn't end up staying because the owner didn't keep the agreement. We'd visited twice and paid in advance for the room, but after returning late and tired from a day trip, we found they'd given it to someone else. At reception they offered us bunk beds without a bathroom for the same price for one night, saying they'd move us afterward. That sounded like it might be another empty promise. Be careful, because our payment and their word seemed to count for nothing, and they appeared more concerned with short-term interests than with customers. I've attached pictures as confirmation.
