The Point Hostels Cusco

I was traveling alone and had a blast. Everyone was friendly, and there are adorable bunnies wandering around. It’s a party hostel, though, so light sleepers who don’t want to join in may have trouble. I hadn’t stayed in a hostel for years, but was on a strict budget and decided to try it. There are great hot showers, laundry, a restaurant and bar, plus luggage storage for trekking. The location is incredibly convenient too.

The staff were nice, and there’s a big room by the entrance with a bar where you can meet people. You can also play table tennis. But the room could use some renovation. The floor was dirty and had lots of long hairs from previous guests, and there was nowhere to hang anything except one nail in the wall and the curtain rail. The bed was old and dusty, and the warm top bed had stains. If dust bothers your allergies like it does mine, be prepared. I guess it depends what you’re looking for. If you want a party and don’t care much about cleanliness, it might suit you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

If you’re hoping to sleep, this place really sucks. The hostel bar plays extremely loud music all night with no set end time. Maybe that works if you’re 18 and want to party until morning, but even after several complaints from me and other guests, they didn’t turn it down at all. Expect at most 3-4 hours of sleep.

The atmosphere is social and welcoming, and the staff are very helpful. It’s in a perfect spot. The bathrooms are clean, the showers have good pressure, and the dorm curtains offer some privacy.
