We barely slept because the noise carried through the room all day: guests leaving for Machu Picchu as early as 4 AM chatted and walked through the courtyard, and things stayed noisy late at night. The internal courtyard was right outside room 209, with multiple windows and a bathroom vent instead of a window, so there was little escape from the sound. A stairwell light stayed on all night and made the room feel like daylight. The bathroom smelled bad; the water was hot, but the clean towels were torn. Breakfast was just bread, butter, jam, and coffee or tea, so we had to ask for avocado to give the kids more to eat. The location is great, but better options are nearby. We were put in room 209 by the stairs, the only room they said could fit our family of four. We'd booked expecting a renovated room, but it was outdated and nothing like the photos online. We also had to wait until 12:30 PM to check in, despite the stated 11 AM time.

I ended up booking another hotel. The photos were of refurbished rooms, and we got one of the worst rooms instead. It had no windows, just a tiny bathroom, a stuffy, dirty feel, and a crawlspace beside the bed. The hotel was pretty clean, though, and I imagine the better rooms must be worth it. My towel had a hole and was from a nearby hotel called Siete Ventanas, while my friend's towel wasn't.

The staff were good, and the hotel was nice. Breakfast and the bed were okay, but the room was bad: small and lacking privacy because the curtains were too short, so people could see in. The shower was old.

There was no one around to help us at 8:30-9AM, and we couldn't get shower towels or leave our luggage there while we visited Machu Picchu. A nice restaurant offered to hold our bags instead. The stay itself was very bad: the water was cold, the sink was broken and leaking a little onto the bathroom floor, and toilet paper cost extra. At first things seemed fine, since they let us leave our stuff and book a room on the spot just after we got off the train.

The staff at San Blass Plaza Inn shared really helpful information over WhatsApp. I couldn't make my trip to Peru because the visa conditions had recently changed, but the hotel took my situation into account and refunded me. Thank you!
