We received a complimentary drink on arrival and were able to check out late. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable, and the location was great for getting to the ocean, restaurants, and shops. The staff were friendly, and Dante o.c was very helpful.

The beach location was good if that’s where you’re headed, but the rest of the stay was disappointing. We booked a double and got twin beds, each with just one very poor pillow. The air conditioner was noisy and couldn’t get the room below 26.4C. A Corona from the fridge by reception cost NZ$8, steep for takeaway. Breakfast was chaotic and crowded, with people nearly fighting over what food was left. This is possibly one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in for a long time.

The breakfast buffet was decent, and the lobby looked very nice, but that was about all I liked. We paid quite a bit and expected more. The bed was clean, yet grime covered the walls, furniture, and door, all with a yellowish look. There was mold across part of the bathroom, and the mini fridge was moldy too and didn't work. We only got one bottle of water to share, and the coffee pods in the room cost extra. The sauna seemed to be coming apart. There were no towels by the pool, so we had to bring our own. I asked three times for fresh towels and went to reception twice. After an hour and a half waiting in our bathing suits in the cold, we finally got two.

Jamie was friendly and made us feel welcome when he picked us up at the airport. He also drove us back there afterward. He did a great job, and I’d recommend him to anyone. Someone should give that man a raise.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff were really nice. Breakfast was consistently good and filling.
