This was the worst apartment rental we’ve ever had. We left early because of the apartment’s condition and the service Raul did not provide, then got a full refund from Airbnb. Since the refund meant the booking no longer counted as an Airbnb stay, we couldn’t leave a review there. Don’t book. Edit: The owner’s reply to my review was just as quick as the response I got when I reported the apartment problems.

I had to cancel my trip to Lima because I no longer trusted this hotel. I wasn’t going to travel for hours only to arrive and hear there were no rooms, after the hotel decided it could put profit ahead of professionalism. I won’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend it. There’s no transparency or ethics here. My Booking reservation was confirmed for November 27 to 30, with free cancellation until November 26 and nothing due in advance. A few weeks later, the hotel started demanding upfront payment, even though I explained that the free-cancellation period meant I had no obligation to pay yet. They then canceled unilaterally, claiming high demand and nonpayment while free cancellation was still available. In other words, they tripled the price for the weekend of the Libertadores final and tried to push me out to sell the room for more. They blamed me for not paying when no payment was due, making up a new rule and shifting responsibility to the guest. In any civilized market, that would be bad faith in business. A note to future guests: if the hotel thinks it can make more from your booking, it may simply disregard the confirmation, policy, contract, and Booking itself. That kind of behavior destroys trust. Update after the establishment’s reply: The host’s response only confirms the problem. Their account doesn’t match the facts. The screenshots I attached come from the hotel’s own Booking listing and show that it offers free cancellation and payment before arrival, as I said. Nowhere does it say, as they invented, that immediate payment is required to confirm. The prices for the Libertadores final weekend had also climbed to more than eight times the usual amount. That’s what explains the cancellation. There was no other guest who paid first. Prices went up excessively, that’s all. They made up an obligation that didn’t exist, canceled a valid booking unilaterally, and then tried to rewrite the story in their public reply. Be warned: when the price rises, your reservation stops being a priority.

Just so people know, this company cancels reservations without warning. Greedy and unprofessional. I don’t recommend them, @bookingcom 🤮
