Casa de Playa Bungalows & Restaurant

The best thing about the hotel is its beach: it sits right on the sand, away from Mancora's main town, so there aren't many people around. Some days we had the whole stretch to ourselves. We were a family of four with two young kids, and had a lovely time in gorgeous Mancora. Casa de Playa was very nice, though a little expensive. Our rooms were clean and roomy, but the space depends on what you book. We had to switch rooms for our final night because of availability, and the second one was much smaller. Mosquito mats were put in the room each day. There's no water supplied in the room, so bring your own. Shampoo and soap are there, though you may want your own if you're particular about the products. The pool was okay, nothing special. Food and drinks at the hotel are very expensive, and there are very few vegetarian dishes on the menu, so it's better to go into town. Mototaxis are plentiful and the easiest way to get there. They usually ask for 5 soles, so bargain if they want more.

Room cleaning was really thorough and quick, with fresh sheets each night and clean towels. The food was fresh and very good, and the service was excellent. I spent a week here and found it very relaxing. To me, it's the most beautiful hotel in Mancora, and a great place for couples or families to unwind or meet friendly people.

Staying at Casa de Playa feels like coming home. It's our second visit, and the staff and owners always do their best to make us comfortable. Our young kids love being by the beach.

The resort is great, and the food and service are excellent. But watch out for mosquitoes and DENGE fever. I got eight bites on my face in 15 minutes and had to retreat to my room. They had NO MOSQUITO REPELLENT, so bring your own if you come to Mancora, and be prepared. Maybe you'll get lucky and not need it. You could also call the hotel and ask. There's also NO ROOM svc and NO Phones in the rooms. What century is this?
