When I got sick near the end of our stay, the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. Oscar speaks very good German and English, which is a bonus for German-speaking and international travelers. Casa Panqarani also has a public cafe open from 5 pm, with good, inexpensive meals. Fresh juices that changed each day and tasty scrambled eggs made breakfast a highlight. Oscar, his mother and his partner were wonderful hosts during our two-night stay. Casa Panqarani was easily the nicest and most comfortable hotel we stayed at while traveling through Peru. It feels much more personal and authentic than the usual booking.com hotel.

The Queen Room had a very comfortable, warm bed, and the shower had plenty of hot water with good pressure. The place is quiet, though only a short walk from the main square. It’s a lovely guesthouse, simple but clearly made with care, with a cafe and garden, which is rare in Puno. The host was lovely and accommodating. I left something in my room while already on my way to Bolivia, and she went out of her way to help get it back to me.

Breakfast starts at 6:30 am, and the wonderful host will go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. It’s a quiet, family-run hotel with a lovely garden.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and we had a good stay over our two nights. It’s a little away from the main area, though the square and restaurants are an easy walk. The hosts were nice and breakfast was good.

Breakfast downstairs in the cafe was tasty and good value, and the rooms were cozy and well equipped even in cold weather. We had a fabulous three-night stay with Ursula as our host, around an excursion to Lake Titicaca. She was incredibly resourceful, helping us organize trips in Puno and offering advice for the rest of our travels in Peru. Ask the hosts to make dinner too. It was a great experience for both the food and the atmosphere. 😊
