Hostal Los Uros

I had a spacious room with a king-size bed, desk, TV, and bathroom, and I'd stay here again. The older couple running the hostal were lovely and arranged a very cheap Uros islands tour for me, 20 soles including a taxi to the harbour. The place has seen better days, so expect some shabbiness, but it was very good value.

We found it very quiet, and the location was great. Our double room was decent for the low price, fine for resting your head for a night or two. The shower wasn't exactly cold, but it was nowhere near warm. Breakfast is not the bargain to count on: it was dry bread with one slice of ham, one egg, or one slice of cheese, and no butter. I'm not joking.

The hot water took a while to come through, but by afternoon I was getting a properly warm, even hot, shower. The room had a desk and chair, the bed was fairly comfortable, and the internet was excellent. It was affordable and clean, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

The owners were a nice older couple, and I enjoyed meeting them. They looked after my heavy, expensive belongings for a few days. The hostel is on a quiet street, close to the center.
