Ururi Stay

The location is excellent, right on the town’s main street, but this was one of the poorer places we stayed. We chose it because it was cheap and only stayed one night. I wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer. The toilets smelled bad, and the room’s only window faced the stairwell, which stayed lit all night, so it never got dark. Breakfast was very basic too.

The receptionist said the hostel was fully booked and that the administrator was trying to free up rooms to raise prices. Later I checked the hotel website and saw that he was renting my room for twice what I was going to pay. Around Carnaval de la Virgen de la Candelaria, most hostels do raise their prices, but because I booked early, my rate was still unchanged. The administrator cancelled my booking, claiming I’d been rude to him for asking whether early check-in was possible, which is usual at most places. The receptionist had told me my booked room was available, but once the administrator arrived, he was rude and cancelled it. They’re unprofessional, greedy, and rude!

Clean place, tasty breakfast, and friendly staff. It’s right in the center of the city, so the location is perfect. I’d recommend it to couples or solo travelers looking for a place to rest. 👌👍

We were happy with our couple of nights here. The beds were comfortable, the showers were hot, and there was hot water on every floor for making tea and so on. Breakfast could be better, like with hot coffee, haha, and a common area would be nice.
