Le Saint-Etienne

After a tiring day of travel, the jacuzzi room was a treat. We had wine and a Rappi delivery burrito and made an evening of it. The tub is enormous, though, and the hot water ran out before it was even half full. They provide liquid soap for bubbles, which helped fill the rest. The place was great overall, though it could have been a bit cleaner.

Our bedsheets had orange stains, the bathroom and its door had a hole, and there was no privacy because people could hear what you were doing in the bathroom or bedroom. The window wouldn’t lock, so the room didn’t feel safe. We’d been told in a booking message that early check-in was free, but the owner tried to charge us when we arrived early. In the end, we paid nothing extra, as agreed. They said we could change rooms the next day, which didn’t work for us. For such poor service, why charge so much? When we chose to cancel, we had to pay S/50 for the time in the temporary room, and the owner made no effort to keep us. When I said I’d write honestly about what happened, the guy threatened to write things about me. The hotel claims to be 3 stars, but it falls short in many ways, especially hospitality. A horrible stay in a horrible hotel. How can customers be treated like this?

The location is great, and the place is very nice and clean. The staff are polite and helpful.

It’s a cheap hotel, but a little pricey for the service you get. Be careful paying by credit card, since they may overcharge you.
