Costa De Leticia

The good points were the view and location, relatively clean surroundings, and friendly staff. But we came to see whether Costa de Leticia resort would work as our wedding venue, and we left unable to recommend it. It wasn't good value for money, and we couldn't wait to get out of there. Our room problems started with a television that had no signal, so we changed rooms. The next room had the same issue, plus an old air conditioner that was extremely loud and rattled badly. Dinner for six, four adults and two kids, took 1 hour and 12 minutes. The dishes were fried chicken, tinola, buffalo chicken, and chop suey, all common foods that should be easy to prepare. I asked the manager twice to bring the drinks before the food, but a pitcher of iced tea took 24 minutes. All my guests thought the food was below average. The restaurant was very disappointing.

They quoted us one price, then raised it after finding out we were foreigners. Not recommended.

The service has that classic Filipino hospitality, with a focus on tailoring things to you. WiFi was strong and reliable, and a dedicated local chef cooked all the meals. Getting to local beaches and diving spots was easy. Alegria's seafront is a five-minute walk away, including the evening food court. You can find fresh local balut, coconut juice, fermented liquor, and organic produce, which was the only food offered there. The resort also has a unique kids' swimming pool and bamboo cottages for a dinner date. The bar has a wide choice of Western and native drinks.

The food and menu were very nice, and there's a lovely pool and deck. The resort is right at the water's edge, with views along the coast and across to Negros Oriental. The sunsets are amazing. Staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. We'd definitely stay again.
