Devera Hotel

For one night, this room is okay, but it felt claustrophobic and I wouldn't want to stay longer in it. The nightlife and some good restaurants are within easy walking distance.

The Wi-Fi was strong, and the keyless entry worked without trouble. The lobby is roomy and pleasant, though there’s only one elevator alongside three stairways. Rooms facing away from the street were quiet. My smaller room had a large mirror, a table and chairs, a small TV, fridge, and coffee service. There were no face towels, and the shower was mounted awkwardly high, leaving water all over the bathroom floor. Fox News was available on cable. The hotel is clean and attractive, close to walking street, and has cheerful staff, including someone assigned to answer reservation emails. Parking is very limited and off-street, with a guard. There’s no restaurant, but Angels Bakery is just steps away. They offer walk-in discounts.

We got in around 1 AM after driving from Cavite, a long way from Baguio, and going two days without sleep. Most of the hotels we passed were full, so we badly needed somewhere to rest. Luckily, there was a room large enough for our family, and check-in was easy. The staff were cheerful, and although parking was limited, they found a spot for our car. The guard was friendly and helped us again the next morning. The street was a little flooded and hard to cross, so he lent our driver boots to retrieve the car parked across the street and make loading our things easier. My only wish was that our room had more than the two pairs of slippers provided.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, and there are plenty of useful places nearby, including eateries, a small supermarket, a drugstore, and a laundry shop. SM Clark is within walking distance. The room was clean and the bed fairly comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked. It’s an older place, so the rooms look dated, but it was fine for one night.
