Phoenix Hotel

The water was reportedly shut off on Saturday night because of non-payment. I was told this by staff, and understand the National Water Resource Board says a utility company in the Philippines can't turn off water outside office hours from Friday night through Monday morning or on holidays. We also had frequent power cuts lasting up to five hours, internet issues including four days without service despite the provider saying it should be working, and rooms where mosquitoes get in. Cleaning was only superficial, leaving a lot of dirt and soap scum behind. Changing the password every three to six months might help with the internet. Some staff were extremely rude and laughed at customers trying to solve these problems. Owners, you have a wonderful hotel, but someone seems to be sabotaging it. When I first checked in, a staff member asked why I was staying there and said there were many better hotels. Whenever I extended, they acted like I had done something wrong, saying, "Oh, you extended, huh...ok." It feels like someone wants the hotel to fail.

There was no water while I was there, and the hotel was awful. It was very dirty, seemed like nobody cleaned, and there was a stinky mold smell everywhere. The staff were unfriendly and hard to communicate with. At night it was constantly noisy, with people slamming doors, and I didn't feel safe.

After I complained that the water had been shut off for two days, the staff stopped greeting me. I was angry when they said it was a problem with a pump in the water tank that could have been fixed much sooner. This hotel needs new employees. Hiring a foreign manager would save money in the long run.

The rooms are basic and could use more cleaning and mosquito control. Google has the location marked inaccurately.
