Maui's Place

I only spent one night at Maui's Place, but it left me feeling really warm, and I hope to return someday. I came across it by chance last week while mountain biking around Cebu, and loved my stay. Maui and Cindy are such kind, caring, helpful hosts. They built the place themselves, from scratch. My room was neat and clean, as were the kitchen and bathroom. It's a quiet, relaxed spot just off the main road toward Moalboal. Mil gracias Maui, salamat Cindy!!!!!

The room felt a little tight for two, but the price was convenient. The staff were very friendly and helped us arrange transportation. Being tucked away off the main road made the location feel secure, and renting a scooter is a good idea. The shared toilet, shower, and kitchen were fine, especially since we were the only guests while we stayed.

My wife, her brother, our four-year-old, and I had a lovely stay. Sir Maui and his wife were great hosts. Maui plays guitar and harmonica and enjoys entertaining guests, and he's a dog lover as well. If you're in Badian and need somewhere clean and budget-friendly, put this on your list. We hope to come back soon.

We gave it four stars because food availability was the one drawback, though otherwise the place was excellent. The owner was welcoming and wanted us to enjoy ourselves without spending much. He even drove us to lambug for free, while local drivers were asking about three times the usual fare, even though Lambug is only 3km away. I'd highly recommend it for anyone traveling on a tight budget.
