The owner was so helpful after I accidentally left my clothes at the resort. They even brought them to me in PPC, which I really appreciated. We only stayed a short time, but it was memorable. We arrived at 3:00 PM and could relax right by the beach. The room was okay, a little hot inside, though that made sense with the brownout. I’d definitely love to come back.

Madam Alaska was especially kind and helpful. After I left my phone behind at the hotel, she went out of her way to get it back to me, and I’m very grateful. The whole team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We also looked forward to the fresh, tasty food at every meal. I stayed at Tatak Balabac with two friends from March 23rd to March 26th. We had sunny skies and lovely tropical warmth the whole time. The beach, with its countless coconut trees, was beautiful, and the sunrises over the sea were a real highlight. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind and enjoy Balabac’s natural beauty. We had a wonderful time and would recommend Tatak Balabac to anyone looking for a beautiful, welcoming place to stay in this part of the Philippines.

The camp’s quiet, laid-back setting was the best part for me. It’s away from the crowds, and every morning I woke to the ocean and that unbelievable crystal blue water. I spent four nights at Tatak Balabac Beach Camp, and it was just the escape I needed. Traveling alone as a woman, I felt safe and welcomed from the start. The owners and staff were some of the friendliest people I’ve met. They made me feel like part of their little island family and made sure I was comfortable and well-fed. For an authentic, peaceful getaway in a beautiful spot, I can’t recommend it enough. I’m already planning to return.

Balabac is still untouched by mass tourism, so come prepared. It’s more than a vacation, it’s a journey into the heart of a culture, a magical place, and raw, unspoiled nature. Expect adventure without artifices, and plenty of stories to take home. What I’ll remember most from my four months in Asia is the kindness and generosity of everyone behind this project. The hotel owners and the partners organizing excursions made everything feel flawless, with exceptional warmth and care. The setting is stunning, and the facilities give you the comfort you need while preserving the island’s wild, untouched character.

We would have been sleeping on the beach if the staff hadn’t taken us in. After storms left us stranded on Bancalan island, the ferry couldn’t safely travel back to Buliluyan Port because of the wind. We walked about five minutes from the dock and found this place by chance. The staff greeted us warmly with coffee, understood our situation, and had a room ready right away. The weather was still too bad for the ferry the next morning, so we booked a private jet boat for 5000 pesos. Balabac only opened to tourism in 2018, and accommodation is limited. Recent storms have washed a lot of garbage into the area, affecting the community and nearby reefs. The locals are doing what they can with what they have to fight the trash on their pristine beach. They care deeply about this place, with its abundant sea life and corals. It’s a one of a kind environment, but it’s also an extremely remote community. Some negative comments seem to come from applying western expectations here. Don’t come if you need the finer things in life. Adaptability, kindness, and respect go a long way when you’re a guest in someone else’s home. Even with all they’re dealing with, they gave us top tier accommodation, were attentive, and made us feel comfortable and safe. We’ll be back soon to see more of the area, and we’re excited to see how it develops while balancing care for the ecosystem so people can enjoy it for years to come. I honestly would give 100/5.
