Baletin Hometel Batanes

The roof deck has a great view of the city, and the place is close to the airport and easy to get around from. The staff are accommodating, and the rooms are clean and well organized. I’d recommend this homestay in Batanes.

When Typhoon Uwan cancelled my flight, the owners were understanding and kind, and did their best to make sure I was safe and comfortable. I’d stay here again. The room and shared spaces were clean, the air conditioning worked well, and they supplied towels, shampoo, and toilet paper. Breakfast was included, with free coffee all day. Wi-Fi was free too, though the signal could get weak, probably depending on how many guests were there. Eateries and mini groceries were a 5-10 minute walk away. I also booked my three-day North and South Batan and Sabtang Island tour through them, along with an extra trip to Tayid Lighthouse and Diura Fishing Village. That all went great. For a solo traveler who likes simple, basic amenities, this worked well for me.

The roof deck was a nice bonus, with views of Basco, the lighthouse, and the nearby hills. I stayed three nights in March 2025 and had no problems. The owner and staff were helpful and courteous, and the property was clean and well kept. It’s about a six-minute walk to Basco Town Plaza. The food was what I expected for the price. This was my second personal trip and third visit overall, and it was a memorable one.

We were stranded for four days because of Typhoon Uwan, and Sir Bert and Ms. Julia Baletin were so generous and accommodating. They helped us feel safe and comfortable, even giving us a bike to use for free. We really appreciated their kindness and hospitality, and we’d definitely recommend Baletin hotel as our home in Batanes. It’s easy to walk to the airport, cathedral, government services, cafes, food houses, and Basco Lighthouse. The room was good value, and breakfast and airport pick-up and drop-off were included. Kudos to the owners and staff!
