The Loft Inn

Things are nearby and accessible, though that would be true anywhere in this busy city, which feels like New York or even busier. This was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. There wasn’t much choice, and I’m pretty bougie about hotels, but this was all I could find. The place is run down and pitiful. The old rooms smelled musty, like stale mothballs. The 17" TVs didn’t work, and wifi was only available in common areas. I saw 1-2 cockroaches. There was no shower curtain or hot water, and the air turned off when the key was removed. Two women were sharing one towel, and when we asked for another, they offered us a used one. There was also a noise under the bed, possibly a rat.

The bathroom feels ancient, and the whole place has the look of somewhere you'd visit on a ghost hunt. The room smells old too. You can hear loud noises through the walls, so if that keeps you awake, you probably won't get much sleep.

Getting around is easy, and there are different businesses nearby. The building feels old and could use better upkeep. My bed was fine, but the blanket had a stain. I also saw little cockroaches on the wall. They didn't supply soap or shampoo, which was okay since I had my own. The toilet needed a better cleaning, and its flush needed repair. Extra beds were being stored outside the lobby.

The staff were accommodating when I had to stay overnight after heavy rain and flooding stranded me in my area. I could hear noises outside my door while trying to sleep, though, and the dated room felt a little creepy, especially the bathroom. That bathroom could use a makeover.
